Maintenance Instructions
NeopreneNeoprene is a synthetic and requires no maintenance; however, the wood-frames require your attention. Regular applications of varnish are necessary (at least 1x per year). Apply varnish liberally to wood-frames in areas where apparent abrasion has taken place. Do not be concerned, if during maintenance process, varnish is applied to neoprene lacing material. This will not affect the life expectancy of the lacing material, nor the performance, and will wear off with use. |
RawhideFollow same instructions as for Neoprene, however, unlike with Neoprene, varnish should be applied liberally to the rawhide lacing material. Again, it is highly recommended that your snowshoes be varnished a minimum of 1x per year. Rawhide does require more maintenance to increase the longevity of the lacing material, so it is vital that you increase the frequency in which you inspect your snowshoes - TOUCH UP AS NEEDED. |
Storing Instructions
Iversons Snowshoe and Furniture, Inc. suggests that your wood-frame snowshoes be stored in a cool dry area, out of direct sunlight.
