Snowshoe Care

Our snowshoes are fine pieces of hand-crafted outdoor gear. They’re made to last a lifetime, but like other pieces of high quality outdoor gear; they need to be cared for a bit.

It’s not a lot of work, in fact it’s kind of fun. Like cleaning your favorite shotgun or sharpening a great knife. If you notice bare wood, just follow the instructions below for your lacing type. You’ll need a small trim paint brush and some good quality marine spar varnish.

 Neoprene Lacing

Neoprene lacing is synthetic and requires no
maintenance, but the frames require your
attention. Liberally apply varnish as needed on
any bare wood. Don’t be concerned, if you get
varnish on the lacing, it will not affect it and
 will wear off with use.

 Rawhide Lacing

Follow the instructions for Neoprene; but
varnish should be applied liberally to the
rawhide lacing material. We recommend doing
this once a year or as may be needed with
extreme use. Rawhide requires a bit more
                                                                            maintenance maximize it life span.

Storing Instructions

Many store their Iversons on the wall because they look so good; just try to keep them out of direct sunlight. Think cool and dry when storing.
